Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any artistic ability?
We are often asked if you need to be artistic to paint our pottery and the answer is, quite simply, no. Painting coloured squares or dots onto a mug can look fabulous or why not let us show you how to create simple stars, flowers or hearts? We are not artists but we do love being creative and having fun and hope you will too.
How do I look after my pottery?
Once the items are glazed and fired, they are fully usable though we do not recommend putting them in a microwave. Whilst they are dishwasher safe, if you treasure your item, it would be preferable to hand wash it to keep it looking fabulous.
Where can I hold a Potterdoodle event?
Just about anywhere! As long as we have table large enough to comfortably accommodate your painters and access to water we can come to wherever you want us to be.
Are the paints and glaze safe?
Safety is of paramount importance to us. The paints we use are lead-free, non-toxic, water based and "child-safe" so are suitable for even the softest baby skin. However, whilst we anticipate that the paint would wash out of any clothing or furnishings, we do bring aprons and table cloths to our events just in case. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused in the unlikely event that spilt paint does not wash out.
